Events

We want you to feel welcome at Art of Wine and to come back often. To that end, we are open for a number of events each month and also offer our wine bar to anyone over legal drinking age for small, personal gatherings:

Arts Alive is a fabulous recognition of Art in Humboldt County, sponsored by Eureka Main Street and the Humboldt Arts Council, held once per month, and involving the entire downtown area. From 6pm - 9pm on the first Saturday each month, galleries, artists' studios, boutiques, salons, bars, banks and restaurants open their doors to hundreds of people who stroll the downtown area, admiring artworks, enjoying the many refreshments and entertainment, spending family time together and introducing the younger generations to the more beautiful things our society has to offer. Typically the artists that we are featuring in the Gallery, are present during Arts Alive and will gladly chat with you. Just ask us for an introduction.

Wine Maker Receptions: about once per month we engage a local winemaker - there are about 27 distinct wineries in Humboldt County now - to bring a selection of their wines to our shop and to tell us about themselves, their winery, their grapes and of course, the wines themselves.

These events are usually held on a Saturday evening from 5pm to 7pm. We open six wines showcasing different varietals, different years or different vineyards and pour each one with an accompanying, complementary appetizer, education and discussion. Since our wine bar (on-site drinking area) accommodates only about 25 people comfortably, you need to reserve your place at one of these events. Artist Receptions

From time to time we hold a reception featuring wine and light refreshments to honor the artists that we are featuring in the Gallery. Invitations are sent out for these events with the intent of us hosting anyone who may be interested in buying the artists' work. The artists are always present on these occasions and will gladly answer any questions you may have about their work, the suitability of placing it in specific rooms or environments, special needs with regard to lighting, etc,. etc.

Your Event

We know that holding a party in your own house is a lot of work - both before and afterwards - but often room rental is expensive and difficult to find.

If your party or gathering will include wine, and will not exceed about 30 guests (21 and over) please ask us if our tasting room/wine bar is available together with one of us to host your bar. Buy your wine from us and we won't charge a fee for the use of the room.
