Wine Bar

Book your party with us and make our place, your place!  no cleanup - no charge when you buy your wine from us.

The Tasting Room represents about one third of our total floor space. Furnished with beautiful bistro seating and boasting a comfortable corner with leather sofa and armchair, it is the perfect spot to gather with friends, listen to music, enjoy a glass of wine or share a bottle. Alternatively, you can sit closer to the bar and try a short or long flight (three or six tastes) for a small tasting fee, together with a little history of the wineries or education about the wines from Byron or Hilary. We open new wines every day and if you don't see one that you particularly want to try, we may be persuaded to open it for you (depending upon price and quantity in stock).

Our philosophy is based on the fact that if you don't go to the wine regions on a regular basis, it's really hard to know what you like. And if you don't know what you like, you're not likely to take a chance on buying it, however much you might want to branch into the experience. Almost all of the wines we stock are from wineries that you could drive to - hence our focus on Northern California - and the majority of them are from wineries that we have visited personally. We try to give visibility to small, boutique wines that you may not otherwise hear about, wines made from unusual grape varietals such as Mourvedre or Cabernet Franc, those exhibiting organic or sustainable farming methods and those that are simply great quality for the price.

We serve all of our wines in a glass which is appropriate to deliver the aromas and flavors as intended by the winemaker. All of our glasses are made from lead-free Austrian crystal and we have them for sale, together with a selection of Riedel or Art of Wine logo-imprinted glasses.

Events
